  • You are God with us
    You're victorious
    You are strong and
    mighty to save
    For Your word stands true
    There is none like You
    And when all else fades
    You remain

    -
    Starfield [Remain]

I tend to forget that God is bigger than all my problems, my worries, my dreams, my everything. I tend to lose sight of the fact that God is God; he can overcome anything and everything.

Recently, there's been a lot of work in school; thus, that equates to more stress. But more and more, I'm starting to learn how to depend and rely on Him. That's something I couldn't do last year; I resorted to worrying and thinking pessimistically. But that would result with anger towards God. I would ask why He would be doing this to me, why I can't seem to do anything right. I would blame Him until I "felt" better. My prayers would be bargains with Him; it wouldn't be true prayers of thanksgiving and praise. I have begun to realize how selfish and lowly of a person I am.

But learning to need Him; I realized that's something that's easier said than done. I still feel a sense of insecurity when let go and let God. And when God doesn't "answer" my prayers the way I wanted them to be answered, I still feel anger and disappoint. But God has a bigger and better plan for me, and it's a plan that my eyes just can't see yet. I've got to understand that my "failures" aren't true failures, they're all part of God's amazing plan for me; he's the sovereign God; he's mighty to save. And when all else fades, He remains.

    Edit://

"You're going to blastoff from now on."

Those words are words I never dreamed of hearing, and it's all because of God that I'm hearing it. God really does answer prayers.

  • i'm sixteen. i'm sixteen. it's so out of place for me to say that. i still feel like i'm 10 or at least back in middle school; it's so surreal being so much older than what you imagine yourself to be. yesterday was definitely insane. at first, i had been iffy about have a party, an ocassion that was centered around me. i'm probably not the most comfortable in an environment where most of the attention is focused on me. at first, i felt spending the money and time preparing and decorating for this "oh-so-special" day really wasn't going to pay off; it really felt like i was wasting time on a party rather than studying for tests and quizzes coming up in school.

but i have to say, yesterday was surprisingly enjoyable. seeing most of my grade friends at my house just made me smile and thank God for blessing me with amazing people. rocking out on rock band and playing ping-pong endlessly was definitely fun. i just thank my friends for making a great day for me.

yesterday and today were real eye-openers for me; i began to realize how much i have taken friends/family for granted in the past. i also began to understand that my friends/family truly care for me. and that's incredibly special, and i definitely wouldn't trade anything for them.

fun fact: when i got on fb this afternoon, i saw the 91 notifications waiting for me to open; that really made me smile :] thank you guys for your birthday wishes!
